Family Action
Family Action is a large national charity which runs a large number of individual projects across England, all based in some way around family support. Family Action provides consultancy support and advice for PPS in an arrangement which ensures that we maintain an ‘arm’s length distance’ from the local authorities who provide our funding. This arrangement is designed to increase parents’ confidence that we provide a properly impartial service.
We liaise, and sometimes work closely, with Family Action projects in Nottinghamshire; for example, the information service for families of a child with a disability run by Family Action (IRIS) is located in an office alongside PPS staff.
