The National Autistic Society

Description :
Does your child have an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) with a recent diagnosis within the last 18 months or so? Is he/ she aged between 3 and 12? Do you require information about your child’s rights and entitlements to services and welfare benefits? Do you require an overview of ASDs and tips on communication with your child?
help! provides support for parents and carers of school aged children, young people and adults who have a recent diagnosis of an ASD.
The programme sessions cover:
· An overview of ASDs.
· Tips for communication
· Education and your rights
· Services and your rights
· Benefits and your rights

A sandwich lunch is provided with tea and coffee served during the day at no cost to parents.
Two members per family may attend (or one family member and a friend).
Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Attending a help! Programme
If your child receives DLA you may be entitled to unpaid leave in order to attend this programme. Parents must have worked for their employer for at least one year prior to taking leave and give 21 days notice of leave.

Park Hall Autism Resource Centre

This course consists of 4 sessions:
Week 1 - 6th June, 9.30 a.m. - 2.00 p.m. (free lunch provided at this session)
Week 2 - 13th June, 10.00 a.m. - 12.00 p.m.
Week 3 - 27th June, 10.00 a.m. - 12.00 p.m.
Week 4 - 12th September, 10.00 a.m. - 12.00 p.m.
A course for parents/carers of children with a dual diagnosis of ASD/ADHD.
Home support and coaching will be available as necessary.
Parents are expected to attend all sessions.
