What We Do

Every Local Authority has to provide funding for a parent partnership service, to give impartial advice, information and support about education issues to parents and carers of children with special educational needs and disabilities living in the area.  This is a statutory requirement, set out in the 1996 Education Act.  Parent partnership services come in all shapes and sizes, and may offer support to parents and carers in different ways, but each has to meet a set of minimum standards which describes the expected range of support and the way in which it is provided.

Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Parent Partnership Service supports parents and carers of children with special educational needs and disabilities living in two local authority areas – you can contact us if you live in Nottingham City or anywhere within the county of Nottinghamshire.  You can also contact us if you are about to move into either of these areas.
